A delegation from Moscow led by defense minister Anatoly Serdiukov will arrive to St. Petersburg in Aug 25-26. The minister plans to inspect assets of Leningrad Naval Base located inside the city boundary. That was said to the Central Navy Portal by a source in Leningrad Naval Base HQ.

The source specified that one of the main purposes of the minister's visit is inspection of the building of Higher Officers' Courses at Zanevsky Ave. It is planned to put up the building for sale, just like it was done to Lomonosov Naval Hospital. The building is situated in dynamically developed sector of St. Petersburg (construction of Okhta Center and other expensive property), so the senior officials of defense ministry beware of tender rigging and nontransparent schemes while sale. Supposedly, the officers' courses will be transferred to Kronshtadt where it is planned to build a large naval training center.
