Ukrainian Navy continues military administrative exercise within the framework of 3rd stage of tactical exercise Cooperation-2010.

According to Capt 1 rank Yury Nazarenko, director of the exercise planning department, the purpose of current headquarter exercise is improvement of practical skills in troops control, establishment of interaction between the Navy and public authorities, other military formations, and law enforcement agencies; checking of the Navy's preparedness for accomplishment of given tasks.

"Seven military administration authorities and six task groups are involved in the exercise, including task groups of Crimean Council of Ministers and Sevastopol City Administration which act as Crimean Defense Council and Sevastopol Defense Council correspondingly", added Capt 1 rank Yury Nazarenko. "Among other assets involved is a task force which will carry out practical actions and combat drills like landing operation, i.e. tasks assigned to the Navy".

According to RADM Yury Ilyin, Deputy Commander of Ukrainian Navy, this headquarter exercise is the final training activity in the current year.

"The exercise is held in accordance with the plan", said RADM Yury Ilyin. "One of its research goals is practical testing of automated control system which has been developed in Ukrainian Navy during the last 2 years. As of today, we can definitely say that operational staff works in coordination; all instructions and orders are executed on time; troops control is carried out in an orderly way".

It should be noted that Ukrainian Navy's military administrative exercise will last till Sept 24.
