Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace has completed works on air- and submarine-based variants of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, reports Press Trust of India.

Firing trials of submarine-based BrahMos missile will be held early 2011, and air-based missile – in 2012.

According to marketing director of BrahMos Aerospace Praveen Pathak, Indian Air Force has already allocated two Su-30MKI aircrafts to test the air-based BrahMos; now the missile is being adapted to the aircraft. Indian Air Force plan to commission the missile in 2013.

Submarine-based version will be tested by special underwater platform. Integration of BrahMos cruise missile with the platform will be conducted in India.
