Putin ordered to hand over two shipyards to USC
Russian premier Vladimir Putin ordered to transfer two ship-repair yards (No. 10 and No. 82) located in Murmansk region into ownership of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) till June 15. At present, the yards report to Russian defense ministry.

BF task unit to return home on Apr 20
Baltic Fleet (BF) task unit consisting of frigates Yaroslav Mudry, Neustrashimy, and tanker Olekma having performed training tasks in the Atlantic will return to BF main base Baltiysk on Apr 20. The ships united in the Mediterranean after task accomplishment.

Sevmash refuses to pay Norwegian debts
The Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, northern Russia, refuses to pay Norwegian shipping company Odfjell the 45 million USD, which the latter was awarded in a court rule last year. The arbitration court in Stockholm last year found Sevmash guilty in having failed to meet contract conditions.

Russia delays launch of new nuclear submarine
Russia will not float out a new nuclear-powered multipurpose attack submarine as planned on May 7 due to technical reasons. Construction of the Severodvinsk, the first Project 885 Yasen (Graney) class submarine, began in 1993 at the Sevmash shipyard in the northern Russian city of Severodvinsk but has since been dogged by financial setbacks.

K-8 crew to be commemorated in Sestroretsk
Memorial service in honor of crewmembers of K-8 submarine sank 40 years ago in Bay of Biscay will be held in St. Paul's and St. Peter's Church in Sestroretsk. Having sunk on Apr 12, 1970, K-8 became the first victim in Soviet/Russian nuclear fleet.

Ukraine is about to raise lease payment for Russian BSF
Ukraine considers possibility of raising lease payment for Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) naval base in Sevastopol. Ukrainian premier Nikolai Azarov intends to voice the new sum during meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Annual lease payment for BSF basing in Sevastopol makes $90 mln, Ukraine receives these money under agreements of liquidation of gas debt which is $2.3 bln.
