13.09.2009 Source: RIA Novosti

Sunk huge merchant vessel was found at a depth of 500 m 20 miles off Calabria region, southern Italia.

That is the first operating result of special robots taken seabottom pictures, reports ANSA news agency.

Acoustic sounders has detected a 80-100 m long submerged object as early as in December.

Attorney of Paola city Bruno Giordano required studying the case in the context of investigation of illegal toxic waste utilization. It is not improbable that the sunk vessel was used for toxic waste utilization by Calabrian mafia.
